Established in 1971, Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak has been a cornerstone of Singapore's hawker scene for over five decades, serving authentic nasi lemak from its corner store at Boon Lay Place Food Village. This muslim-owned establishment has built a legendary reputation for its simple yet iconic plates of nasi lemak, earning numerous awards and praise from locals and food critics alike. Operating daily from 6:30am to 3:30am, it stands as one of the few reliable late-night dining options in western Singapore, making it a popular supper destination for residents in the area.\n\nThe restaurant's signature offering centers around incredibly aromatic coconut rice that's freshly prepared daily with the finest coconut oil, creating a fragrant base that can be enjoyed on its own. Their generous portions include crispy golden-brown chicken wings with tender, juicy meat inside, perfectly fried eggs with oozy yolks, and their famous pungent sambal that strikes an ideal balance - decently spicy and subtly sweet without being overly sugary like many other nasi lemak stalls. Popular sets range from .50 to .50, with the Chicken Set featuring chicken wing, ikan bilis, sambal and fried egg, while additional items like begedil (/bin/bash.50), otah (.50), and sambal sotong (.50) can be added to customize your meal.\n\nBoon Lay Power Nasi Lemak has evolved beyond its humble hawker stall origins, now operating a central kitchen that maintains consistent quality across multiple outlets and even dispensing their nasi lemak through vending machines at locations like International Plaza and Heartbeat Bedok. With islandwide delivery available for orders above 0, the brand has successfully modernized while preserving its authentic flavors and affordable pricing. The constant queues during peak hours and fast ingredient turnover ensure that every dish is served hot and fresh, cementing its status as one of Singapore's best nasi lemak destinations that offers exceptional value at just .50 for a very generous portion.

Looking forward to eating the nasi lemak today, which costs $8.50. However, I found that the cuttlefish was so hard that I couldn't bite it. My friend who bought the same dish also faced the same problem. These were wasted and easily cost us at least $3/$4 for this dish. What a disappointment!

A takeaway place in Basement 1 with no eating area. Not a lot of ingredients for $5. The chicken wing was soft by the time I found somewhere to eat.

I actually don't want to give any stars! My wife ate the nasi lemak on Friday (27 June 2025), but suffered food poisoning for two days afterwards. Really potent nasi lemak!

Do you know set 3 nasi lemak means it includes cucumber and ikan bilis? Don't just give rice and fish fillet. Be thoughtful to your customers!

It's hard to give a good review when the price is $4.50 for a plate of nasi lemak, though it is a good one, no doubt. The rice is fragrant, the chicken was tasty, and the sambal was good and sweet, with a nice kick of spice. It's an extra 30 cents for takeaway. I've been eating from this stall for months now, and the taste hasn't changed.

Be warned, go early or stand in queue. The nasi lemak is fragrant, and the chilli is both sweet and spicy. For ease of eating without dirtying your hands, the fillet or otah versions are the best. For $5 a packet, it's a power-packed meal. The ladies are very warm; they don’t rush you to order even when there’s a queue. Recommended for a no-fuss, quick eat when you're unsure what to have.

If you're looking for economical prices, go for the nasi lemak sets, lontong, mee rebus, mee goreng, etc. They are reasonably priced. I paid $7.80 for white rice with beef rendang, fish fillet, and brinjal. A good portion of dishes was given. Served by Tanty today.

The auntie energy here is BIG!!!! That’s what I’m here for. I work around the area and I’m not lying, I get lunch here at least once a week. The nasi lemak rice is fragrant and pillowy, a perfect partnership to take your protein to the next level of flavor town. The sambal is dark, smoky, and on the sweet side. It still carries a nice kick that enhances that spoon vessel of delicious morsels to your mouth, giving you bliss! Ok, that further confirms that yeah, I might have an addictive personality. The beef rendang is tender, packed with flavor and spices. I don’t know the name of this particular dish, but it’s a chicken bathing in this yellow broth/sauce/curry that is a delight when poured on top of the rice; it just sends it, baby! The bergedil is a must for me; soft potato dough inside while the outside remains crunchy is just the chef’s kiss. Ikan bilis here tops it off, the crunchy peanuts giving you that texture composition after the soft, pillowy rice. The little fishies packed with umami just send your tastebuds to the moon. I don’t believe in reincarnation, but if I did, I’m sure I was born Malay in my previous life. Love, love this type of food. But it’s all thanks to the beautiful people behind the scenes, the aunties who are working back there cooking delicious food every day from morning to night to feed us this wonderful meal. They do it with love. Bless them and Happy Ramadan, my Habibis!

The food is nice, especially their nasi lemak sets. The rice is fragrant and the chicken wing is crispy, but their chili is very oily. Their service is super slow, with or without a queue. It's bad timing to takeaway during lunch time and off-work hours.

This is THE best nasi lemak around. I'm shocked to see it have such poor reviews. The sambal is so tasty, and you can really taste the coconut rice. The chicken is never soggy.
