Rotiboy has triumphantly returned to Singapore's halal bakery scene after a 15-year absence, bringing their iconic butter-filled coffee buns and signature Malaysian bakery expertise to multiple strategic locations including Changi Airport Terminal 3, Funan, and KINEX Paya Lebar. This halal-certified establishment has rekindled Singaporeans' love affair with their famous coffee buns, which feature the perfect combination of crispy coffee-infused cookie crust and soft, airy bread filled with melted butter.
The bakery's signature Rotiboy coffee bun represents the pinnacle of their craft, featuring a tempting buttery-coffee aroma and carefully balanced textures that create an irresistible eating experience. Their expanded range includes innovative variations like Buttermilkboy, Mochaboy, Cheeseboy, and Durianboy, each offering unique flavor profiles while maintaining the quality and authenticity that made Rotiboy a household name across Malaysia and Singapore.
Originally established in Penang in 1998 and first introduced to Singapore in 2004, Rotiboy's 2021 comeback reflects their enduring appeal and commitment to halal certification. Their strategic positioning in high-traffic locations like airports and shopping centers, combined with competitive pricing and consistent quality, has reestablished them as a must-visit destination for both nostalgic locals and curious newcomers seeking authentic Malaysian bakery experiences.

I was initially happy to see Rotiboy in Singapore, but after taking a bite, it turned to disappointment. It's a far cry from the Rotiboy in Malaysia. This is despite me eating the Rotiboy immediately after buying it, just after the shop opened, so it should have been fresh.

Tried the coffee bun and the first bite was pretty amazing. It was a nice warm bun with great flavour, but the middle was overwhelmingly buttered. It would’ve been better without so much butter.

I had a very unpleasant encounter with one of the service staff. I bought 4 Croboys and wanted to buy several flavours of Rotiboy. During the ordering and payment, the cashier told me to get the 5 qty for $11.50. When I took the package from the other server, a small Chinese girl, I realised it was all coffee flavour. Seeing my surprise, she tried to help me change the order. I could have a mix of flavours, 4 qty for $11. I told her I would like to change my 5 buns to 4 and was okay with not getting my 50 cents back. While she tried to change my buns, an older lady came and was unhappy that they were trying to change my order. She reprimanded the two girls openly, saying that whatever was keyed in would not tally. Sensing the two girls would be in trouble for helping me, I told them to just give me the 5 coffee buns. The elder lady told me the system was 'difficult' and nothing could be done. I just walked away. Honestly, I was mad as hell. Everything could be reversed; all kinds of purchases could be reversed. If only she had thought of the customer first. Instead of helping me, she chose to reprimand the two girls who were trying to help me. I guess my money might not be much to her....

Improved a lot! In the last few times I bought, the buns were nicely baked, with a slight crispiness and the right amount of butter. My favorite snack :)
Previous review - Went there just to buy as I saw that the operating hours listed on the website and Google were 10pm. However, at 8:05pm, the place was being cleaned and there were no more breads available. The staff mentioned the closing time is 9pm.

As a fan of coffee buns, I’m thrilled Rotiboy opened so conveniently near City Hall MRT. I'm glad I settled on the Cheeseboy; for those who may find the Rotiboy a tad too sweet, the cheese complements the bun perfectly. They're yummy filling snacks to bring to the office too. No card payment is accepted, but payment by QR code (PayNow or Grab) is available besides cash.

Highly recommended this bun bakery. This is just a pick-up and carry-out location. The buns are very good and tasty. The butter bun crust is perfectly baked and delicious.
We were happy to get to try it. I think they could generate better marketing buzz with improved signage and point-of-sale materials. Regardless, we love this bun. We regret not knowing about this place during our Malaysia trip.
