Had the Lemongrass Beef with Rice ($13.50). The beef slices were tender, served with a sunny-side-up egg. It was comfort food. I'm not usually a fan of Vietnamese food, but this dish was decent enough. Service was fast and prompt.

As a concept, it's certainly a great idea if they could match it with great food and service. The food was just about okay. The ambience wasn't much to rave about. The Spicy Pho on the menu was very lightly spicy. Food was delivered quickly despite the restaurant running at capacity. The Pho broth, however, was mediocre and not flavorful. Beef slices were thin and tender, and the beef balls were springy. The Vietnamese drip coffee was good but still lacked that oomph factor. The staff at the entrance came across as unfriendly, though I must add he did assist us. The menu is pretty decent, and everyone should be able to find something here. Will I return? Possibly not.

It doesn't have an authentic Vietnamese taste. There's no mint or other herbs. The sauces are more like Thai sweet chilli rather than the fish-sauce based ones you would expect. If you just want a meal, this place is fine. But if you're looking for Vietnamese cuisine, this will disappoint.

Disappointing!!! The soft shell crab and squid were fried until burnt, emitting a bad smell, likely due to recycled oil. The coffee was served with cold coconut milk, which made the coffee lukewarm.

SO PHO……. So Good and here’s my review for the Novena Square @ Velocity. Restaurant: Very nice decorations and renovation works. It’s brightly lit using lanterns and has a wall of Vietnamese collectables as decorations. Penciled on the floor are retro tiles. A clean restaurant with a mixture of wooden benches and metal chairs for seating. Staff: Very polite, friendly, and approachable. The only drawback is that they are also using the self-scan QR code to place an order. I have previously mentioned that I don’t think this provides the best service, considering they charge a 10% service charge. Nevertheless, this is all made possible today with technology. However, I’m just saying that with order taking, you will most likely be able to upsell me all the way to the desserts. Food: Wow….. What got me was the size of the portion that was served. It’s huge! So for those who want to get your money’s worth, this is it! Lol. Quality? I’m unfortunately going to say it is not the meal that will make you cry-sort-of-reaction. But is it good? Yes, it is well cooked, ingredients are fresh, and portions are huge. I think what it lacks is the Wok Hei – the umami from the gravy. I think this feeling of wanting it can only be found in Vietnam or places that use charcoal for cooking. You are not getting that here, but it’s still pretty satisfying. So…. It’s great, but it’s not gonna make you cry sort of feeling. The Fried Vermicelli, Beef Pho, Chicken Chop Pho, and Mix Appetizers are all very nice, with no complaints whatsoever. I will advise those getting the Vietnam Coffee to have it served later. By the time it finished dripping and when I was done with my meal, it was already cold. So, lesson learned. Overall, a good meal. What it lacks in Wok Hei, it made up for with service, portion size, and price. #bigbowlofpho #vietnaminnovena #nicevietnamfood

This is our family's go-to restaurant for yummy meals! The food is great, the staff are friendly (lovely Afiqah and the other ladies!), and the location is convenient! Highly recommended!!
