Springleaf Prata Place stands as Singapore's premier destination for authentic South Indian and North Indian cuisine, establishing itself as a one-stop family restaurant that serves both traditional favorites and innovative fusion creations. With 9 outlets strategically positioned across Singapore—from their flagship location near Springleaf MRT to accessible spots at Rail Mall near Hillview MRT, Junction10 Woodlands, and Tampines SAFRA—the restaurant has created an extensive network that brings authentic Indian flavors to diverse neighborhoods. Their halal certification ensures that their traditional Indian cooking techniques and spice blends remain accessible to Singapore's multicultural dining community, while their commitment to live prata-making stations demonstrates their dedication to freshness and authenticity that sets them apart from typical hawker fare.
The extraordinary menu at Springleaf Prata Place showcases over 60 varieties of prata, ranging from traditional options like plain prata and murtabak to groundbreaking fusion creations that have redefined Singapore's prata landscape. Signature innovations include their famous Chicken Floss Prata, the original Murtaburger featuring in-house lamb patty, and the plant-based Impossible Murtaburger that caters to modern dietary preferences. Their culinary creativity shines through unique offerings like Däs Prätwürst ($9.90) with chicken sausage and currywurst sauce, Salted Egg Prawn Prata ($12.90) combining local flavors with traditional techniques, and Praclette ($10.20) inspired by Swiss raclette with truffle oil, demonstrating how traditional Indian flatbread can serve as a canvas for global culinary influences while maintaining authentic preparation methods.
Springleaf Prata Place's success lies in their ability to honor traditional Indian cooking while embracing innovation, creating annual specialty pratas for the Ultimate Hawker Fest that keep customers returning for new experiences. Their comprehensive menu extends beyond prata to include thosai, noodles, set meals, and aromatic curries featuring mutton, chicken, and beef preparations, ensuring that every family member finds satisfying options regardless of their preferences. The restaurant's prata live stations and catering services for events demonstrate their commitment to bringing authentic Indian food experiences beyond their physical locations, establishing them as cultural ambassadors who introduce Singapore's diverse population to both traditional and contemporary Indian cuisine through the beloved medium of perfectly crafted prata.

Utterly disgraceful experience. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst encounters I’ve ever had with any establishment. The staff were completely incompetent, moving at a glacial pace with zero regard for customers. It felt like they were deliberately dragging their feet, showing blatant favoritism in how they handled orders. The lack of professionalism and basic decency was appalling. I wouldn’t step foot in this place again if you begged me—and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away. This place deserves to be shut down, not supported.

Wouldn't recommend the mee goreng; it's bland, has no colour, and no meat. The Indian Mee Goreng I'm used to is reddish in colour with minced meat chunks in it. Paid $5.50 for this, not worth it. For the prata, it's slightly better. Paid $1.50 for plain prata, but it tastes like every other prata I've tried. The only good thing is it's fresh and crispy. The tissue prata was quite slow; I had to chase them for it. It's nice and sweet and crispy.

This is a typical chain store—affordable, and the food quality matches the price. However, the taste is just average.
Some dishes had exciting names, like salted egg prawn prata and egg mozzarella prata, which sounded promising but ended up being underwhelming or even a bit disappointing. Instead of using real salted egg yolk, they used salted egg sauce, and the mozzarella portion was too small and lacked flavor.
That said, this place isn’t trying to be a high-end Indian restaurant, so for a regular chain eatery, it’s still acceptable.
One major downside was the waiting staff’s poor communication skills—most of the time, we struggled to understand them, which made ordering difficult. This is definitely something they need to improve.

I went there for a prata promotion, and they were pretty good.
In December 2022, I visited the Tampines branch again and remembered to ask about a Safra member discount. The cashier said there was one. When I asked if it could be used with a cash voucher, the cashier initially said no, but after checking with a man seated nearby, he confirmed it was allowed. Throughout this, I had forgotten to ask about the Safra discount myself, and the cashier did not remind me. You need to be mindful of this.
In January 2023, I returned, and this time the cashier insisted I could not use the e-voucher with the discount. Oddly, she also stated there was no supervisor available to consult. It was not a good experience, and I am downgrading my review. I ate mutton biryani, which was alright, although the side dishes of cucumber were minimal, and there was no yoghurt or mashed beans.
Edit: Later, in June 2023, I finally spoke with a Safra staff member, Sebastiaan Shimasaki Chia, who informed me that I was correct: cash vouchers should indeed be treated like cash, and the restaurant should have offered me the discount. I felt scammed by both the Tampines and Jurong branches for being told that discounts were not allowed.
Edit: June 28, 2024. I visited again and spent time emailing and making a phone call with Gladys from Safra to clarify the protocols for vouchers and member discounts. This time, the order was completed successfully without the cashier denying my member discount. I ordered the most expensive dish, lamb shank biryani at $19, along with a large teh tarik and a prata kosong. The lamb shank was horrible; it was relatively tough and difficult to tear apart. It was the worst shank I've ever had and not worth $19. The prata was nice at $1.40 per piece and paired well with the fish curry. The large teh tarik was priced at $2.20, but the size was not particularly large.
Edit: August 28, 2024. I came for biryani and successfully used my member discount and e-voucher without being denied by the manager, who was also the cashier. This was a pleasant surprise after being previously denied my discount. When I inquired about Safra points, I was told their machine was down. Fortunately, I knew about the manual paper entry option and asked, confirming I could fill it out manually for points.
Edit: September 2, 2024. I visited for the Safra fifty cents promotion, ordering prata in a cup and teh tarik. The teh tarik was nice and came quickly, but the prata was slow, even though only three other tables were occupied at 8 am.
The "prata in a cup" consisted of one egg prata and one kosong prata, with fish curry poured over them and served in a cup. I'd say this might require an acquired taste, or perhaps be useful if you were in a hurry and needed to pack it to eat later. For me, the entire dish was soggy and difficult to eat. I struggled to finish it and experienced indigestion for the rest of the day. I will definitely skip this concoction in the future.
Edit: June 30, 2025. Everything went smoothly, attended by a Chinese cashier. The voucher and discount were used without any issues, and I also obtained member points. However, they rushed out my prata and thosai, even though I had asked for them to be served later. The curry chicken was a thigh piece, quite horrible. Once bitten, it was super tender and became a mash in the mouth, tasting bland. The mutton biryani was alright, but the gravy was too salty. The plain prata was the best dish, although the fish curry was too salty. I'm not familiar with thosai and am unsure how to appreciate it. I rated it as normal.

The food is pretty good, but the service was bad. When ordering, the staff did not advise on the appropriate amount of food, which resulted in over-ordering. The service exhibited by the staff was very unprofessional. The first photo below shows the staff who served at the cashier. This staff did not exhibit professionalism by informing us about the size of the murtabak. The second photo below is a medium-sized murtabak. I would not advise visiting this place.

Had dinner at Springleaf Safra Tampines. It's located inside the Safra building, about a 10-minute walk from Tampines West MRT. It's a cozy place with friendly staff, perfect for having prata with family or friends. We had prata with onion, prata kosong, and egg. As always, the prata was nice and crispy! They also offer free flow of fresh, warm fish and chicken curry.

We arrived around 9 AM on Sunday. The queue was still acceptable. However, by the time we finished our breakfast at 10 AM, there was a super long queue at the counter, stretching all the way to the entrance.
We ordered plain prata, egg prata, cheese prata, and Umami 50. I didn't expect such a generous portion of mozzarella cheese in my cheese prata; it was incredibly good.
The Umami 50 was also good, with ample fillings of chicken luncheon meat, chicken floss, and mozzarella cheese.
They provided two self-service curry options: chicken and fish curry.
Overall, it was a good meal.

Awesome food. Onions were crisp giving a nice crunch to the prata and Maggi goreng also flavourful.

The quality of the prata is always quite consistent! If you like crispy prata, I would definitely recommend the egg prata. I would say the service is a bit hit or miss, as sometimes they'll forget an item in our order. But all things considered, it's a good place if you're craving prata!

Had a great experience at Springleaf Prata Place, made even better thanks to Farhan. Even though he was stationed at the cashier, he didn’t hesitate to step in wherever needed — clearing tables during the busy lunch crowd and ensuring everything ran smoothly.
What really stood out was when my teh tarik wasn’t made right — Farhan personally took the time to check and ensure it was corrected. It’s rare to see that kind of care and accountability, especially in a fast-paced setting.
Farhan’s professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile made a real difference. Great food, and even better service. Will definitely be back. Hope that there will be promos too.
