Springleaf Prata Place stands as Singapore's premier destination for authentic South Indian and North Indian cuisine, establishing itself as a one-stop family restaurant that serves both traditional favorites and innovative fusion creations. With 9 outlets strategically positioned across Singapore—from their flagship location near Springleaf MRT to accessible spots at Rail Mall near Hillview MRT, Junction10 Woodlands, and Tampines SAFRA—the restaurant has created an extensive network that brings authentic Indian flavors to diverse neighborhoods. Their halal certification ensures that their traditional Indian cooking techniques and spice blends remain accessible to Singapore's multicultural dining community, while their commitment to live prata-making stations demonstrates their dedication to freshness and authenticity that sets them apart from typical hawker fare.
The extraordinary menu at Springleaf Prata Place showcases over 60 varieties of prata, ranging from traditional options like plain prata and murtabak to groundbreaking fusion creations that have redefined Singapore's prata landscape. Signature innovations include their famous Chicken Floss Prata, the original Murtaburger featuring in-house lamb patty, and the plant-based Impossible Murtaburger that caters to modern dietary preferences. Their culinary creativity shines through unique offerings like Däs Prätwürst ($9.90) with chicken sausage and currywurst sauce, Salted Egg Prawn Prata ($12.90) combining local flavors with traditional techniques, and Praclette ($10.20) inspired by Swiss raclette with truffle oil, demonstrating how traditional Indian flatbread can serve as a canvas for global culinary influences while maintaining authentic preparation methods.
Springleaf Prata Place's success lies in their ability to honor traditional Indian cooking while embracing innovation, creating annual specialty pratas for the Ultimate Hawker Fest that keep customers returning for new experiences. Their comprehensive menu extends beyond prata to include thosai, noodles, set meals, and aromatic curries featuring mutton, chicken, and beef preparations, ensuring that every family member finds satisfying options regardless of their preferences. The restaurant's prata live stations and catering services for events demonstrate their commitment to bringing authentic Indian food experiences beyond their physical locations, establishing them as cultural ambassadors who introduce Singapore's diverse population to both traditional and contemporary Indian cuisine through the beloved medium of perfectly crafted prata.

I was a little disappointed with the food today. Firstly, the wrong order arrived. Secondly, the portobello mozzarella was overcooked, and instead of replacing the charred portobello, it was wrapped in the prata and cheese.

Wow, this is actually quite bad. Personally, the WORST biryani I have ever eaten in my life, including Singapore, Malaysia, and India. The curry was diluted, like the water coming out of your mouth after rinsing – tasteless and with no depth or flavor. The rice was equally poor. I asked for very little rice, and yet they gave this huge amount. Luckily, the chicken size was decent but a little dry. For a SAFRA restaurant, this reminds me of my army days in the 80s… alongside famous rubber bands and half-cooked, shitty food.

I ordered the Wednesday special chili chicken briyani. It was very forgettable. The chicken was tough and only tasted sweet. The rice was bland. Service was mixed: a young lady had a don't-care attitude, while a tall young man staff member was polite, friendly, and professional. The air conditioning was nice and the place was clean.

Tried the Springleaf Prata at Yishun, and overall, it delivers what you'd expect from their brand. The murtaburger is excellent—just like at the other outlets I've visited. Crispy outside, juicy inside, and full of flavour. Definitely a must-try item here.
The egg prata was also nicely done—crispy, fluffy, and not too greasy. The thosai sauces, however, didn't quite suit my taste; they felt a bit off compared to other places.
One thing to note: the atmosphere has a pretty strong smell, probably due to the kitchen exhaust not performing well. If you're sensitive to that, maybe opt for takeaway.
Still, if you're in the area, I'd recommend giving it a try—especially for the murtaburger.

It was an SG60 promotion, so we decided to support them and head across to try it out. We had Dosai, Tissue Prata, and this Plaster Blaster! Personally, I love the Plaster Blaster because it's such an unusual Prata for me, but my queen prefers her Prata clean and pure. A funny note is that my queen and I had our first date eating pratas too, but it was at Springleaf Prata at Springleaf ;) If we crave it again, we will cross over to eat again!

This restaurant is a bit smaller, but the service staff pay attention to detail. They get your order to you as soon as it leaves the kitchen, and even your takeaway order makes its way to you quickly while you are still finishing up your meal.
Case in point: I was ordering takeaway to bring home after my dine-in dinner. I placed my order, then looked over to my dinner date and asked if she also wanted something to bring home, and I placed the extra order. My takeaway was sent to me in two separate bags, containing the order for myself and my friend. This initiative and attention to detail is what I call great service. Kudos to the young lady who was manning the cashier counter on Tuesday evening, September 9th. I regret not coming back here, but instead going to the Railway Mall branch, which I thought had a larger space. I ended up with incredibly poor service and a poor food standard. Come to this branch if you want to have good prata and good service.

The service from both Sasi and Lingam was excellent and professional. Sasi took the initiative to inform me that they needed some time to prepare the new Chicken briyani set and followed up on the request when the set was ready to order. Such proactiveness is rare and professional. They were not rigid and always had a listening ear to customer requests and were flexible to accommodate special requests. They went the extra mile to serve the customers. The cutleries were sanitised, but I was still concerned. They sanitised my fork and spoon in boiling water just to give me peace of mind and went the extra mile. They even gave me a complimentary plate of Indo Malay keropok crackers. The new Chicken briyani set was excellent, and as I dislike chicken breast, they gave me drumstick and thigh instead. So generous of them. The only issue is that the briyani rice was too hard and dry, making it difficult to swallow and requiring lots of gravy and teh tarik (which came with the set) to soften the rice and aid swallowing. Cooking the rice longer and with more water might help to soften it and make it easier to swallow. The generous and excellent service and servings from the two staff more than compensate for this minor issue, which could easily be solved. Such exceptional service is rare in the industry, especially compared to the nearby Eatzi Gourmet at SAFRA Yishun, which offers terrible, stingy service and servings. Both are Halal, but more Muslim and non-Muslims prefer eating at Springleaf than at Eatzi restaurant (JP Pepperdine group's service and culinary standards have really dropped). Thank you to Springleaf and excellent staff Sasi and Lingam.
