It has been a while since I patronised The Soup Spoon. I used to like their monthly specials. The last time I ordered from The Soup Spoon was a few months ago, and the soup of the month special was too salty for my taste. I thought I'd give them another try since they have the Korean Soup special this month. I ordered the set that came with a salad. The Gochujang Kimchi seafood chowder was too salty for my taste; I even had to dip my tofu from my salad to reduce the saltiness. I'm not sure if I saw any seafood, as they were all in small pieces. Instead, I ate a lot of corn. It should be called spicy gochujang corn chowder. I couldn't even eat half of the chowder as it was salty. Or is it just me? I don't know. In the past 2 years when I ordered, it was okay for me. Or maybe I ordered the wrong item?

Slow service. The teriyaki chicken sandwich was cold, and the soup was watery. My order was just placed on top of a stack of trays; the least they could do is put the tray aside before stacking the meal on top. No one helped when I struggled to pick up that tray without tipping my soup over. All the staff did was hurry me and grab the tray below for themselves. Not coming back.

I ordered this set for 2 (plus 3 soup samples), and it was good and really filling! I liked how it came with soup, salad, and a side – the variety is perfect for sharing! Their soups are generally not bad, but I really enjoyed the salad and flatbread. I especially liked the basil rice in my salad bowl and the bulgogi beef in the flatbread; they were super good! I'll recommend!

The sandwich is nice, the lemon tea is nice, and the soup is nice. However, nowadays the bowl has become much smaller. You need to pay extra to get the larger bowl, which used to be the standard size without any additional cost. Next time, I will not order the rice bowl; it's not as nice with the pickles.
