We came here to eat at 5:30 PM, and the staff was sweeping and mopping the floor. Dust particles and the smell of detergent killed our appetite. Were they preparing to close for the day? It also seemed like there was only one wait staff serving food. I haven't even started on the quality of the food yet... nothing impressive.

Customer Service: In general, it’s okay, except for a staff member named Fadli/Fadil (or something similar). We think Tokyo Shokudo’s management should conduct a performance review for this individual. He provides poor customer service and gives the impression that he couldn’t care less. We’ve eaten here multiple times, and this behaviour has been consistent. Food review: 4-stars. The soup base is tasty, though the noodles felt a bit doughy (al-dente) for our serving that day. Overall, it was decent. Tempura was fine too. The Yuzu ramen is not for everyone; you must love Yuzu. I’d recommend just going for the regular/spicy.

It’s bad. Do not go. Go if you wish to pay a premium price for a poverty hotpot buffet. It’s gross. I paid $64 for two people because it was a Sunday. Raw chicken was left out in the open. The chicken in the hotpot was bland. Seafood was not fresh. It’s bad. Beef was average. It’s the only item I have no complaints about, but there was nothing fantastic. They were just beef slices. The sauce bar is pathetic. No coriander, no spring onion. The sesame sauce they used was watery and diluted. It’s just gross in general. Their fried and processed food had been there for hours. The fries were so bad. The pizza had become cardboard-like. Their “drinks” section was just some random syrup and tea. Houjicha, Lemon Tea, and I don’t know what else. They don’t even have a drink machine. This is the first Japanese hotpot buffet I’ve ever eaten in my life with no drink machine. I paid $64 for this. Just avoid this place. It was a waste of my money. There are much better buffet options around Westgate and Jem. Google them.

Went there 2 days ago. The food looks nice, but the taste hasn't changed since I last visited 8 years ago. It doesn't even taste Japanese; it's either too sweet or too salty. After I went home, I kept drinking water, which says a lot...

We ordered two signature tendon sets as we hadn't tried this place before, despite walking past it a number of times when we visit the mall. The tendon set was pretty standard in terms of the variety of meats and vegetables, as well as the taste. We liked that the set included an egg, as most other tendon places don't offer one. However, the egg was overcooked, so the yolk was hardened instead of runny. Even though the food was decent, the speed of service left a lot to be desired. We arrived late, around 8:15 pm, so the place was already quite empty. We didn't expect to have to wait long for our food to be served. To make matters worse, the staff were already mopping the floor while we were eating, so we had to endure the overly strong smell of detergent throughout our meal. I understand that the staff want to leave on time and may want to get the cleaning done since there weren't many customers left, but they could have done so for the areas where customers were not dining.

Very nice lunch! The food is just right, love the soup; it's not too salty. The noodles are so soft and yummy! We had the Banana Waffle with chocolate ice cream, which was served after our lunch. It was so delicious, and we will definitely come back again.

Perhaps I was undecided about what to eat at those moments, so I headed to one of the halal-certified Japanese eateries and ordered a random dish to satisfy my craving. This is Tokyo Shokudo, and the dish in the picture is the Chicken Char Siew Ramen (4 pieces set). I am always mesmerized by the overall presentation of the food served to me. The white broth is well-seasoned, and the chicken pieces are chewy. The ramen noodles are just perfect for that satisfying munching sensation. Personally, nothing is too much for me because my appreciation for Japanese life, and life in general, is always about being grateful every day.

Love the tendon and ramen options. The tempura seems to be a hit and miss sometimes, but it's still a great option for every visit. I bought the duck and chicken ramen, both with very rich broth. The noodles were springy and the overall combination of flavours was just nice. Speedy service during lunch hour was impressive. However, the food was almost on the salty side, and the tempura can be a little oily, especially the fish tempura. The green tea always tastes great over any other drink options. Recommended place for a casual, but delicious Japanese dining experience

It was pretty good Japanese hot pot buffet (nabe). You can choose 1 kind of hot pot for $4. You can order your meat, and there's also a buffet section with vegetables, some seafood, sausages, and chicken. You also have pizza and sushi rolls. Besides that, there are some desserts. I think it was good value for the price.
