Kaffe & Toast is the halal-certified subsidiary of the popular Coffee & Toast brand, specifically launched to provide delicious traditional Singaporean breakfast sets in a cozy environment for busy working executives and Muslim diners. With multiple outlets including locations at Eunos Road and Woodlands Civic Centre, the restaurant serves as an accessible alternative for those seeking halal-certified versions of classic Singaporean breakfast fare. The establishment maintains MUIS halal certification, ensuring compliance with Islamic dietary requirements.
The restaurant's signature offering is their Kaya Butter Toast, described as "a crispy, golden treat slathered with rich kaya and butter," available as part of Set A which includes 2 softboiled eggs and choice of drink. Beyond their famous kaya toast, the menu has evolved to include all-day local favorites such as Chicken Rendang, Mee Rebus, Laksa, and Mee Siam, alongside Thai boat noodles and rice dishes that cater to diverse taste preferences throughout the day.
Kaffe & Toast successfully bridges traditional coffeeshop culture with modern halal dining requirements, making iconic Singaporean breakfast experiences accessible to Muslim consumers. Their expansion beyond breakfast items demonstrates adaptability to customer needs while maintaining the authentic flavors that define Singapore's hawker heritage. The restaurant's cozy environment and strategic locations make it a convenient choice for both quick breakfast stops and leisurely meals throughout the day.

Ordered the kaya butter toast set on a weekday morning. Coffee was good, eggs were good, but the kaya butter toast was bad and soggy on the inside. The queuing time was long, even though it wasn't crowded and there were only two people ahead. The old cleaning lady was hardworking and polite. Please give her a raise.

Ordered set A with kopi, less sweet. Only the kopi came. There was no apology, and all that was said was 'it's okay'. I'm a working individual and I have timing to eat. It's sad to have to deal with this. After explaining, I was hoping for a simple sorry, instead of blaming my staff for not knowing my order. My staff came after me.

Conclusion: this cafe's only edible food is bread. They cannot make noodles.

We ate here on a Thursday evening around 8pm after my father finished his appointment at SGH. I ordered mee siam for myself and my mother, while my father ordered grilled chicken noodles as his stomach and IBS cannot tolerate chilli. The menu did not clearly indicate that chilli would be included, nor did the cashier inform us. When the food was ready, my father started eating and realised there was chilli. He then requested the female staff member in a hijab to change the noodles. She refused outright, stating, "All the items on the menu have chilli. It's normal." The cashier also rebutted with, "You never told me you don't want chilli." As first-time customers, are we expected to know that menu items automatically come with chilli? This is the first time I've encountered a shop that doesn't ask customers, "Do you want chilli?"
I understand we could have clarified, but every other eatery, like Eat! or food courts, would ask this simple question and take the initiative.
The service was terrible. All they had to do was apologise, and they couldn't even manage that. I would never eat here again. SGH should find a new cafe/restaurant to replace this one. This cafe, with its poor reviews, does not reflect well on the hospital either.

1. Bad customer service from the staff preparing toasted bread; they were very rude towards customers.
2. The pager was faulty, causing inconvenience. I had to go back and forth three times just to collect my food!
3. The kaya spread was dry, not evenly spread, and in small solid pieces.

Personally, this restaurant has one of the best (and affordable) beef noodle soup options near this area. Their Thai boat beef/chicken noodle soup has a soy sauce base and is just very rich and nice in flavour. I'll crave their soup once in a while, and in fact, I haven't tried other restaurants elsewhere that have this soup taste yet. Recommended!

A local once whispered in my ear that this place served his favourite beef noodles. Everyone has their opinions and specific tastes, but this local's best-kept secret might just be revealed here and now. This place serves truly delicious beef and chicken noodle dishes! Definitely try the mee siam (with chicken and balls, served with a hard-boiled egg).

Great place to dine in. The choices are plentiful.
It can get very crowded during dining times, so you might have to wait a while before getting a seat.
Food is affordable and worth the amount paid.
Customer service is excellent; the waitresses are attentive and fast, attending to your needs.
Highly recommended for families to dine in.

In contrast to other reviews, I've eaten here twice over three years and have enjoyed my experience each time. I had the beef noodles, and my partner had the mee siam. Both were good in taste, and the portion size was generous too! I would definitely return. The kopi bing I had was also alright.

Slightly more expensive than E.A.T, but the servings are also bigger.
Laksa ($4.50): (3.5-star)
Tastes a bit different than usual laksa, but the serving portion is big. The dou po (beancurd skin) is a bit hard and should be soaked in the laksa gravy for a few minutes before eating; it will taste chewy after that, which is nice ;-p
Otah Bun ($2.80): (4-star)
The otah bun was nicely toasted with fresh otah, but it's a bit small and not filling enough.
Chicken Ham and Cheese Toast ($2.20): (4-star)
Love the toast and the chewy cheese. I bought it as part of a combo, so it was cheaper.
Soft boiled egg ($1.50): (3-star)
Nothing special, but I prefer the fact that they crack the eggs instead of having me dirty my own hands doing it :-)
Lemon Tea ($2.20): (4-star)
Tastes great, not diluted like most coffeeshops, but they also cost more. I bought it as part of a combo, thus it cost $2 instead.
Coffee "Ti-Lo" ($1.70): (4-star)
Great tasting as I ordered a "thick" one without adding hot water. Just tell the server "Ti-Lo", which means "pour straight all the way" in Hokkien. I bought it as part of combo C, so it was cheaper.

17-Dec-2017: There was a foul smell, not sure if it was from the toilet behind the walls or the mop they used. I hope they resolve it as it spoils the appetite. Otherwise, their food is delicious as usual.
