Mr Bean stands as Singapore's leading soy-based food and beverage retail chain, established in 1989 with a mission to reconnect life's simple pleasures through fulfilling and inviting food experiences. Originally starting as a humble family bakery serving the local community with traditional confectioneries and bread, the brand has evolved into a comprehensive halal-certified chain with 64 outlets across Singapore. What makes Mr Bean truly special is its commitment to healthy, soy-based products that cater to both sweet and savory preferences, making it a popular destination for health-conscious consumers seeking halal dining options.
The menu at Mr Bean showcases an impressive variety of soy-centric offerings, from their signature Original Recipe pancakes filled with red bean, tuna, chicken mayo, kaya cheese, and innovative seasonal flavors like Gula Melaka and Curry Chicken with Potato. Their wholesome rice bowls feature meat-free alternatives like Japanese Curry and Truffle Mushroom options, while their beverage selection ranges from classic soy milk at $2.50 to exotic drinks like Icy Sea Salt Chendol at $5.20. The brand also offers nutritious rice balls, silky beancurd, grass jelly combinations, and healthy soy granola bars, ensuring there's something for every dietary preference and taste profile.
Mr Bean's recent achievement of complete MUIS halal certification across all outlets represents a significant milestone in Singapore's inclusive dining landscape, making quality soy-based nutrition accessible to the broader Muslim community. The brand's focus on affordability, with most items priced under $6, combined with their commitment to fresh daily preparation and healthy ingredients, positions them as a cornerstone of Singapore's fast-casual dining scene. Their continuous innovation in developing new flavors while maintaining traditional appeal demonstrates their understanding of evolving consumer preferences and their dedication to serving Singapore's diverse culinary landscape.

My child bought Thai milk on 29/5 and was shocked to see mould at the bottom of the drink today. The expiry date is 2/6/2024. Fortunately, she did not drink it, as it could have led to food poisoning! Please check your products on a daily basis.
Added another photo. This is definitely mould, no doubt about it. I didn't want to travel all the way for a refund but wanted to alert you about it. Since you want to see it, I will contact your officer about it. Fortunately, my child has kept it for evidence, showing foresight.

Very rude aunty there. I've been buying and drinking this black soy milk almost every day if it's in stock. This time, I drank it and the taste was totally tasteless. So I went to the store asking to change to another pack. The aunty was very rude when talking to me and did not allow me to change. I didn't ask for a refund, I just wanted to change to another pack.

Happy National Day! The Orh Nee Mochi Pancake was a little subpar, if I'm being honest. The orh nee was chunky, not smooth, and the mochi was too liquidy.

Had the tuna pancake after 9pm. The pancake was uncooked inside and very cold. Such a bad experience for my first time as a regular patron of Mr Bean. Not recommended to eat when they are closing if you don't want cold pancakes.

Had delicious soy ice cream there. Special shout out to Lai Ling who served us. She engaged my son and was very friendly. She went the extra mile to put ice with our soy ice cream cup to keep it cool.

To get your soya bean fix in Singapore, most people will head to this franchise - Mr Bean. If you're lucky, you'll get pancakes fresh out from the round molds. I wasn't this time :(
However, the pancakes are still chewy and the tuna filling is still tuna; it's just not as warm.
The auntie was also quite friendly for Singaporean standards, meaning, not brisk or rude.

Their kaya toast and ondeh ondeh pancakes are our absolute favourites from Mr Bean. Just look at the cross section - the kaya and bssm fillings are oozing out! For those that would like a more filling option, their chicken floss pancakes and mushroom chicken wraps were packed with nutritious veggies and were not too salty, which came as a pleasant surprise.
Beyond the usual soy milk in all its variations, we also got their ice blended drinks. They come in flavours like matcha latte and chocolate hazelnut which we really like!

The cold soy milk is silky and smooth. It costs S$2.1 for an average-sized cup. Even with 100% sugar, it's not very sweet. You can pay by FavePay. The auntie serving wasn't the friendliest; she asked me about the sugar level, but looking at the customer in front, I wasn't sure she was talking to me. I expect more from Mr Bean, as they are usually known for better service. It seems good service is no longer their priority.
