Polar Cafe represents the hospitality-focused extension of the renowned Polar Puffs & Cakes legacy, operating strategically within Singapore's healthcare institutions to serve both medical staff and visitors with quality halal-certified refreshments. Located primarily at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Mount Alvernia Medical Centre, Polar Cafe provides a convenient dining solution for those spending extended time in medical facilities. The cafe operates as part of the broader Polar family, which has secured over 90 years in Singapore's food industry since 1926, bringing decades of culinary expertise and halal certification to the healthcare environment. This specialized positioning allows Polar Cafe to serve a unique niche market while maintaining the high standards and halal integrity that the Polar brand has been known for across generations.

While Polar Cafe's menu offerings are more streamlined compared to the extensive Polar Puffs & Cakes bakery chain, they maintain the brand's commitment to quality baked goods and refreshments suitable for the medical facility environment. The cafe provides essential food services including light meals, beverages, and selected baked items that cater to the needs of healthcare workers, patients' families, and visitors who require convenient, halal-certified dining options during medical visits. The connection to Polar Puffs & Cakes ensures access to the brand's signature items when appropriate, including their famous curry puffs and various pastries that have been customer favorites for decades. The halal certification maintained across all Polar establishments ensures that Muslim customers can confidently choose from the available offerings without dietary concerns.

Polar Cafe's significance extends beyond typical food service by providing comfort and familiarity during often stressful hospital visits, serving as a reliable source of quality refreshments when people need them most. The strategic placement within medical facilities demonstrates Polar's understanding of community needs and their commitment to serving Singapore's diverse population in various settings. As part of the broader Polar ecosystem that includes over 30 bakery locations across Singapore, Polar Cafe contributes to the brand's mission of making quality halal baked goods accessible throughout the island. The cafe's presence in healthcare settings reflects Singapore's commitment to inclusive dining options and ensures that dietary requirements are respected even in specialized institutional environments.

It's getting irritating with the plastic bag charge. If you want to earn this plastic bag money, then just charge it in the food immediately. Do not irritate the customer! Do you all buy a plastic bag at 5 cents each?

Why are places selling food starting to charge for plastic bags even when purchasing multiple items.

Why are places selling food starting to charge for plastic bags, even when purchasing multiple items? It makes the whole experience a hassle to take food out. If you are going to start charging for plastic bags, please remove branding and logos from them.

Female middle aged staff (from China) did not know how to redeem the NTUC income complimentary polar

A middle-aged female staff member (from China) did not know how to redeem the NTUC income complimentary Polar cake. She proceeded to mark the item as redeemed on my phone without generating a barcode. She then had the audacity to tell me it was now my problem if there was no barcode for redemption and wanted to dismiss me. Throughout the entire episode, this staff member was neither helpful nor apologetic. Thanks to another male staff member who attempted to call someone and seek help. In the end, before I could get any assistance from any of the Polar staff, I managed to re-enter the portal to regenerate the barcode for redemption. If a staff member is unsure how to proceed with a redemption, the least they could do is find someone who knows, instead of making assumptions and denying customers their redemption.

The staff were friendly and polite. The puffs were warm and tasty. However, I was a little disappointed with the chicken pie; it didn't taste as nice as before.

The store offers the standard Polar puffs offerings, like the Curry Puff, Chicken Pie, Vegetable Puf

The store offers the standard Polar Puffs & Cakes offerings, like the Curry Puff, Chicken Pie, Vegetable Puff, and Sausage Puff, amongst many others. There are discounts for staff. The puffs and pies are generally good, with a flaky exterior. The fillings are also enjoyable, especially the chicken pie.
